How to Measure for Shutters Inside Mount

How to: Measure Inside Mounted Shutters

STEP 1

To have an inside mount L Frame shutter you need to have 65mm of unobstructed depth to allow for the blades to operate freely.

Measure 3 points for the width as per the diagram. Windows are rarely square.

Measure 3 points for the drop.

We always use the smallest measurement to ensure the Shutter fits in the reveal.

STEP 2

If the difference between the smallest and largest measurement is greater than 10mm then GetBlindsNow recommend you switch to an Outside Mounted L Frame.

STEP 3

The maximum width a single panel can be is 900mm so based on your width determine how many panels you need. All panels will be equal in size. 3 or more panels will require a T post.

STEP 4

Measure for a midrail if applicable.

This is always measured from the bottom of the window frame up to the center of where the midrail would be.

<1500mm drop = no midrail

1500mm – 2400mm = 1 midrail

2400mm – 3600mm = 2 midrails

If possible, line the midrail up with a natural mullion in the window so the glass is as unobstructed as possible
